Community
based service learning is service without
pay to a non-profit organization or an individual
or group in need of assistance. The service
must be for the benefit of others inside
and outside the school community. Academic
based service learning enhances learning
by connecting a service learning project
to a specific objective of the curriculum. This
proposal deals mainly with community service
for credit but also may include service learning
within the curriculum of various classes.
