DISCIPLINE/SAFETY COMMITTEE

THINGS TO DISCUSS AT FIRST MEETING WITH FACULTY:

• Student I. D. requirement
• Caps on al classes/SH
• Consistent/equal rules for study halls (posted)
• Devote a room to SH. Get out of Commons
• Clothing - Dress codes - Make sure dress code is followed up on in first hour
• Parking in yellow zones
• Assigned parking spots - numbered - pay fine without sticker
• Camera in lobby of Fieldhouse and office - Has this been "promised" to us?
• Alarm system
• The way the SH teachers are being paid is not adequate
• Change so no SH offered - Schedules
• Smaller PE classes
• Lock all doors at 4:00 p.m.
• Lock door between Fieldhouse and auditorium & auditorium to school
• Lock gates - Keep people out of where they should not be
• Lack of academic honesty policy - Need consistency
• Need consistent tardy policy
• Grade level meeting to define age appropriate behavior, m/u work, tardy, etc.
• Teachers (specific) need to be "talked to" if they aren't following policies (many teachers are frustrated)
• A consistent list of things /behavior that are appropriate to send to office
• Discipline by teachers to students who aren't theirs / should make go to office and be dealt with by principal
• Feedback (IMMEDIATE) from all principals on discipline (action within 24 hours for action and 48 for feedback)
• Send "U" students to first hour
• Students that are in extra-curricular activities who get in trouble during day, should not participate at night.
• Students on medical excuses for PE should not participate in sports
