Sterling High School's chapter of the National Honor Society follows the guidelines of the national organization; membership requires not just excellent scholarship,
but high character and leadership.

Service Project: Coop with Food Drive, December 2009
NHS will man the ABC consession stand for two basketball games in January or February. (Dates to be announced)
"Induction" - March 26, 2009
Juniors and Seniors with a weighted GPA of 3.0 and higher receive an invitation to apply shortly following the posting of first semester grades. Applications are evaluated by a faculty committee. Membership requires ongoing service hours through the year, excellent conduct and maintenance of a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Application due March 5, 2009, 3:30 P.M.
The application has 4 parts:
1. Application form (parent signature required)
2. Co-curricular Activities form. (non-credit SCHOOL activities)
Both must be typed and turned in to Mrs. Brokaw. You will need to contact Mrs. Hippen in the guidance office or Mrs. Brokaw for your class rank and current GPA.
3. Dismissal Procedure Form must be attached to your application. This must be SIGNED by you and your parent.

Additionally, an electronic version (Excel sheet, not scanned) of the Co-curricular Activities form must be emailed to Mrs. Brokaw. To email this form, save it first to your computer: Save as - last name_firstname. Then attach it to your email. If you do not have email, see Mrs. Brokaw.

The "Application Form" is editable, however you cannot save a partially completed form and come back to finish it later. It is recommended that you print and complete a blank "Application Form" with pencil or pen, then open the on-line PDF file and complete at least one page at a time, printing as you complete the page. (Use printer icon within the Adobe Program if you have problems printing with a File - Print command)
