Planned Guidance Curriculum for 2008-2009:

Second Step Program—This program will be provided to all elementary students in the CUSD #5 and Rock Falls Elementary School District #13. Second Step is a structured, standards-based curriculum. Every elementary student will increase in knowledge and skills in the three American School Counselor Association domain areas: academic, career, and personal/social (as noted in Illinois Second Step Curriculum Crosswalk).

School Counselors team with Classroom Teachers to provide the

Second Step Curriculum.

Units include:

· Empathy

· Emotion  management

· Impulse control

· Problem solving

· Anger Management
