If you want to know what kinds of different plants are in the ocean, you've come to the right place. Here are some:

eaweed- Seaweeds are marine algae, saltwater dwelling, simple organisms that fall into the rather outdated  category of plants. Most of them are the red brown or green kinds and most are attached by holdfasts, which just have an anchorage function.

elp- Kelp is the common name for a number of leafy brown algae. Today kelp is used to obtain alginic acid. Alginic acid is used in tire manufacturing, in ice cream to prevent it from crystallizing, and in paints.

hytoplankton- Phytoplankton are microscopic plants that live in the ocean. There are many species but all are different. Small fish and some whales eat them for food.
