The Joshua Tree and Dragon Tree (below) are two trees in the desert. The Joshua Tree grows in the Mojave Desert and has spiky leaves. The Dragon Tree grows in the Canary Islands and has sap that is red.

The Saguaro Cactus is the biggest of all cactuses. It stores water in its stem. Photosynthesis occurs in the top level of the stem instead of leaves. Saguaro fruit is used in jam, woody skeleton's , and building material.
