Health and Life Safety
Projects
The
Superintendent, or designee, shall provide assurance to the Board of Education
that all projects managed through health/life safety meet established
guidelines:
1. All
funds expended pursuant to 105 ILCS 5/17-2.11 (fire prevention, safety, energy
conservation, disabled accessibility, school security, and specified repair
purposes) shall be recorded in the fire prevention and safety fund.
2. No
funds shall be expended prior to appropriate approvals by the appropriate
Regional Superintendent of Schools and the State Superintendent of Education.
3. All
such expenditures shall be traceable to a specific amendment and work item for
which the appropriate approvals have been obtained.
4. All
necessary forms shall be filed in a timely manner with the appropriate Regional
Superintendent as required by governing rules (23 IAC Part 180).
5. All
expenditures for these purposes shall adhere to existing policies regarding
budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, purchasing, internal control, and
taxation.
