The A+ Challenge is the first phase of the three year fundraising campaign and probably the most important. SSF is challenging all referendum supporters (i.e. “yes” voters) to pledge at least the amount of money their taxes would have gone up had the referendum passed to the A+ campaign for three years. These donations are tax deductible, just as the property tax increase would have been. Unlike the property tax increase, A+ Challenge donations will be matched one-for-one, donations can be designated for fine arts and/or athletics and donations are for a limited period of time.
Figuring A+ Challenge Donation Amount: The simplest method to determine what the suggested minimum yearly A+ Challenge donation should be is to divide the total value of your home/property by 600. If a property is valued at $90,000, the suggested minimum yearly A+ donation is $150, which would result in a total pledge of $450 for the length of the campaign.
